So, I'm watching Monica Kwan fence Anna Doecker (AUS) at the Worlds, live on the Internet.  It's 3-3, and they've been exchanging hits so far.  The World Champs website shows the current state of the pool...

(YES!  4-3 for Monica.  Woo hoo!)

...sheets, and they update every 45 seconds...

(Yay!  Monica won 5-3.  Now she has 3 wins and 2 losses, with one more bout to fence.)

...so it's kind of like watching the tournament live, except you can only look at the pool sheet.  Her next bout is against Aida Chanaeva (RUS) who is currently 2-2, and is ranked 19th in the world.

I love the Internet...

Okay, it's 12 minutes later, and the bout is on.  Score is 1-1.  Tension is high as we wait for the screen to refresh... 2-1 for Monica!  Awesome!  Now we wait again... 3-2 for Monica!  Wow!  It's an intense bout! ... Still 3-2, so they've settled down, or else someone is having equipment problems... Oh, drat.  5-4 for Chanaeva.  But it sure was an exciting bout, considering I was only looking at the score sheet.

Good luck in the DE, Monica!
